Ralph T. Hoffa, 60, a retired 22-year-veteran of the Crawfordsville Police Department died at 3:15 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital. He resided at 212 Parke Ave. Mr. Hoffa retired from the police department Nov 1, 1966. At the time of his retirement he headed the recfords and investigation division. He joined the force on Jan 24, 1944. He had been employed by Indiana Gas Co for 7 years after his retirement from the police force. Mr. HNoffa was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Army. Mr. Hoffa was a graduate of CHS. A Crawfordsville native, he was born April 5, 1914 a son of John D. and Rachael Ransdell Hoffa. He was married to Jean Johnson June 13, 1936. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Mark of Crawfordsville, a daughter, Mrs. Thoma Hesser of Huntington, W Va and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Lucian Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
