Martha Ann Hodgkin, daughter of William and Lucinda McKee was born near Bainbridge, Indiana on Sept 7, 1857. She was the youngest of a family of 14 children, twelve of which were boys. All are deceased except 3 of the brothers. On Nov 15, 1883 she was married to Nathan W. Ader of Bainbridge, who died a number of years ago. On June 15, 1918, she was married to R.H. Hodgkin of Waveland. Mrs. Hodgkin was widely known and prior to the days of failing health was active in Church and community organizations. At an early age she became a member of the Christian Church. After her last marriage, she united with the Methodist Church of Waveland. She was also a member of the Athens Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Crawfordsville. Surviving and mourning her passing are the husband, RH Hodgkin, three brothers, Will McKee of Indianapolis, Alonzo McKee of Tuscola, Ill and Milton McKee of Crawfordsville, four stepdaughters, Mrs. Ethel Stilwell, Los Angeles, Mrs. Nell Deer, Dallas, Tx, Mrs. Nelia Wheat of Eastland, Tx, and Mrs. Mary Burgess, New Market, and one stepson, Earl Hodgkin, Viola Iowa. Mrs. Hodgkin was a kind and considerate neighbor and friend. Even in the years of ill health and suffering, she was always cheerful and ever maintained an optomistic view of life and its burdens. She leaves a great number of friends and neighbors who will long remember her as a wonderful example of cheerfulness and patience. Funeral services at the home on Saturday afternoon. -- kbz
