Mrs. John Hochwender, former Crawfordsville resident died at Indianapolis Monday morning according to a message received here. Mrs. Hochwender passed away at eight o'clock following a two week illness. The deceased was fifty-six years of age. Those surviving are her husband, one sister, Susan Vance who resides at the Ben-Hur home, one brother, George Stanter of New Ross, and a number of nieces and nephews. Source: Crawfordsville Daily, June 4, 1929 Funeral services for Mrs. John Hochwender will be held at the home, 1271 south East street, Indianapolis, Thursday morning at nine o'clock. The funeral party will arrive here about noon Thursday and a short services will be held at the grave in the Oak Hill cemetery Thursday afternoon.
