Mrs. Edna Lorean “Rena” Hobson, 98, died Wednesday in the home if her son, Floyd, at Rt. 1, Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health the past year. Mrs. Hobson was a member of the Church of Christ. She was educated in the Mace schools. She was born Jan. 21, 1872, at Mace, to Enoch and Juliette VanSoyoc Linn. On Feb. 16, 1896, she married William Hobson at Mace. He died in 1954. Survivors in addition to the son are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Downing of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Lowell (LaVern) Williams, of Rt. 5, Crawfordsville; a brother, Harvey Linn, and a sister, Mrs. Elva Powell, both of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Powers Funeral Home. Clyde Peck will officiate, assisted by Johnny Pachall, minister of the United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. – typed by Chris M
