Covington -- Harold Martin HOAGLAND, 76 of Covington died at 8:35 p.m. Monday in Covington Manor Health Center. A graduate of Covington HS, he attended Purdue University. He was a life resident of the Covington area, and farmed in the Salem neighborhood for many years, retiring in 1976. In 1982 he moved to Covington. He was a DeKalb Seed Corn dealer 25 years and ASCS Committeeman for several years, receiving an award for 30 years of service. His memberships included Saleum United Methodist Church, Tidal Lodge 36 Knights of Pythias and Purdue Ag Alumni Association. He was born July 31, 1912 at Stone Bluff, to George Martin and Ruth V. Ward Hoagland. He married Willa Rose Galloway Jan 1, 1939. She survives. Also surviving are five sons: John M; Robert C; Thomas, G. William and James A.; a sister, Mrs. TE (Lucille) Washburn; 9 grandchildren and a great grandson. A sister, Mary Banta is deceased. Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday in Shelby Funeral Home with Pau Ziebert officating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. - kbz
