Miss Sarah Jane Hope was killed by a Van freight at Judson,
Friday. Miss Hope, who was a deaf mute, was on her way from the
home of Mrs. Howard Clark, where she had been staying, to that of
her uncle, and in doing so, walked some distance on the track,
although warned not to do so. Both legs were broken and other
injuries inflicted, which she survived but a few minutes. The
funeral services on Sunday were conducted by Rev. W.W. Speer.
Miss Hope was born at Metcalf, Ky., May 26, 1869, and had been a
lifelong member of Bethlehem M.E. Church, near that place. - typed by kbz
