New Ross, Dec 18 -- A large gathering of friends, relatives and neighbors were  assembled at the local Methodist Church this afternoon to pay a  last tribute of respect to the memory of Mrs. Hattie HOBSON, one  of the best known and respected ladies of this community, who  passed away at her home here Tuesday afternoon, after a long,  lingering struggle with the dread disease of cancer. The  remarkable patience of this splendid Christian woman during her  long suffering won for her the admiration and sympathy of the  entire community. The services were in charge of her pastor, Rev.  Gardner of Mace, assisted by Rev. FE Graves, New Ross. The  speaker in a forceful way dwelt upon the splendid character of  the deceased and in feeling terms spoke of her association with  the local church. He used as his last words, "She hath done what  she could." JE Bamish beautifully rendered Beautiful tale of  Somewhere; Death is Only a Dream and Abide with Me with Miss  Lizzie McIntire at the piano. The many beautiful floral pieces  were carried by Dorothy Hobson; Mrs. Lowell Cox; Mrs. Floyd  Hobson and Mrs. Lowell Williams. Pall bearers were Charles  Miller, Jr.; Bryant Hobson; Floyd Hobson; Lowell Williams and  Lowell Cox. Internment was made in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Mace. - typed by kbz
