New Market - Mrs. Elsie Mae (Baldwin) Hites, 69, of Rt. 1 Ladoga, died Friday morning in Culver Hospital after a long illness. She was a member of Parkersburg Christian Church. Born September 1, 1903 in Edgewood, Ind. she was a daughter of Wilbur and Alice Stuck Eubanks. She was educated in Parkersburg school. She married Harvey Baldwin on February 22, 1922. He died May 29, 1941. On March 6, 1953 she wed Cyrus Hites, who died May 21, 1972. Surviving are five sons, , Russell Baldwin of Crawfordsville; Harold Baldwin, of Memphis, Tenn.; John Baldwin of Plainfield; Kenneth Baldwin of Newton, Ill. and Marvin Dale Baldwin of Potomoe, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs.Martha Carrel of Browns Valley and Mrs. Deloris Swisher of Crawfordsville; two stepsons, Howard Hites of Homesville, Ohio, and James Hites of Umatilla, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Doris Herpel of Wooster, Ohio; a brother, Ora Eubanks of Roachdale; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Zachary of Whitesville, Mrs. Florence Hodges of Raccoon and Mrs. Helen Lawler of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A sister preceded Mrs. Hites in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Reeves Funeral Home here, with Frank Bunn the minister and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Sunday and after 4 p.m. Monday.
