W. Frank Hitch, 89, Succumbs In Nursing Home- W. Frank Hitch, 89, 608 E. College St., died Saturday afternoon in Rudisill Nursing Home. Mr. Hitch was Montgomery County court bailiff 20 years. He retired in 1955. He was sheriff in 1929 and 1930 and deputy sheriff four years. He also operated a grocery store at the corner of Franklin Street and Wallace Avenue. Born Jan. 7, 1870, in Youngs Chapel Community, he was the son of Henry and Margarert Brown Hitch. He was twice married. His first marriage was to Julia Coleman. She died in 1926. His second marriage was to Blanche Coleman. She died in 1952. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alice Peebles of Darlington; a niece, Mrs. Adrian Remley of Darlington; a nephew, Donald F. Peebles of Crawfordsville; a step-son, Lewis Ditamore of Crawfordsville and a step-daughter, Mrs. Karl Laurimore of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Paul E. Million, pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
