Hinds - Elmer Joe

Source: New Richmond Record 6 Aug 1914 p 2

Elmer Joe, the little 21-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hinds, died at 3:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon from cholera infantum. Mr. Hind’s  is superintendent of construction on Jackson township’s new school building, and the family were living in a tent near the school. As soon as the child died its body was taken to the nearby home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wellman, from where the funeral will take place this (Thursday) morning at ten, followed by interment in Wheeler’s cemetery. Their home is in Indianapolis; but the family had joined Mr. Hinds and were camping near the school building in hopes that the outdoor life would benefit the little sufferer. Mr. and Mrs. Hinds have five other children older than this one. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family among strangers. – kbz
