Paul Francis Himes, 89, 1600 E. Liberty Street, Covington died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday May 26, 1999 at Covington Manor Health Care. Born Oct 3, 1909 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Albert and May M. Merchant Himes. He married Geneva F. Hicks July 13, 1932 in Montgomery County - she preceded him in death. He had been a resident of Covington 10 years and former resident of Brookston, Elkhart, Lafayette, LaGrange, Muncie and Crawfordsville. He was a member of Orchard Hills Church of Christ. He graduated from Crawfordsville HS. He was a minster for years with the Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, Philip R. Himes of Muncie and Michael L. Himes of Morrilton, Arkansas; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. The funeral was at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington at 10 a.m. Saturday May 29, 1999 with Bill Miller officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -- donated obit - dc
