Mrs. Mae M. Himes, 84, Crawfordsville, died this morning at the Ben Hur Home. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Crawfordsville Extension Homemakers Club, Coral Club and Order of Eastern Star, Lodge 97. She was born Aug. 20, 1887, the daughter of John and Retta Harrell Merchant. She was married to Albert F. Himes who preceded her in death in 1957. Surviving are a son, Rev. Paul F. Himes of Brookston, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Mabel E. McDonnell of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Harvey Merchant of Lebanon and Elmore Merchant of Ladoga; a sister, Mrs. Charles Grantham of Ladoga, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Ernest, and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. - jlr
