NEW RICHMOND -- Emert Hillenburg, 88, of Rt. 1, New Richmond died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Lane Nursing Home at Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since Dec. 8, 1973. He had been in failing health two years. Mr. Hillenburg was a retired farmer and resided in this community since 1927. He was born Sept. 29, 1885, in Brown County, a son of Frank and Jane Lucas Hillenburg. He was married to Effie E. Cain in Monroe County on Aug. 26, 1903. She died in 1972. Surviving are a daughter, Edith Miller of Crawfordsville; two sons, Claude of New Richmond and Carrell of Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Helms Funeral Home at Linden with the Rev. Ellis and the Rev. Henry Oakes officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
