NEW RICHMOND – James S. Hill, 40, former New Richmond and Coal Creek Central High School agricultural teacher, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in Tucson Medical Clinic at Tucson, Ariz. Mr. Hill, taught at New Richmond High School for two years. After New Richmond and Wingate high schools were consolidated, he taught at Coal Creek Central five years. He then went to Tucson where he was employed as an agricultural statistician for the state of Arizona. He also worked in agricultural research at the University of Arizona. Born Dec. 28, 1925, in Warren County, he was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Purdue University. He obtained a master’s degree from the University of Arizona. A World War II veteran, he was married July 26, 1947 to Donna Gephart of Pine Village. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Loveda Kay, 16, and a son, David, 12, both at home; two brothers, Rupert of Boswell and Cleon of Brookston; and three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Johnson of Popino, Calif. Mrs. Robert Smith of Lafayette and Mrs. Ora Trent of Hoopeston, Ill. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Douglas Dickey of the Williamsport Christian Church in charge. Burial will be in the Rainsville Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
