Lowell H. Hildebrand, 63, director of institutional research at Wabash College suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after 11 a.m. Monday while attending a staff meeting at the college. He was named to the research post in October in 1966 and assumed his duties in the late summer of 1967. For 17 years prior to being named in the research position he had been the college's director of admissions. Mr. Hildebrand came here from Stephens College, Columbia, Mo where he had been admissions counselor from 1937-1950. He held a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University and master of science degree from Northwestern Univeristy. Mr. Hildebrand was born Sept 29, 1906 at Huntington, Ind. He was a member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to Sigma Delta Psi and Phi Delta Kappa fraternities and the Masonic order, Scottish Rite and Shrine. Survivors include the widow; Lois Virginia HIldebrand; a daughter, Marilyn Sue and son, Roger Wayne. The body is at Bright & Burkhart Funeral Home, funeral arrangements incomplete.

Memorial services for Lowell H. Hildebrand, 63, who suffered a fatal heart attack Monday, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larimore K. Wickett and Dr. Harry Cotton officiating. Graveside rites will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to the Heart Fund or the scholarship fund at Wabash College. Mr. Hildebrand was director of institutional research at Wabash College and had been director of admissions. The son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Hildebrand, he was born Sept. 29, 1906, at Huntington, Ind. He was married May 28, 1933, to Lois Grupe, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thomas H. (Marilyn Sue) Bornholdt of Topeka, Kans.; a son, Roger Wayne Hildebrand, a senior at Lawrence College, Appleton, Wis.; two brothers, Dr. William Hildebrand and Dr. George Hildebrand, both of Neenah, Wis., and one sister, Mrs. Wright Moats of Clearwater, Fla. Mr. Hildebrand was preceded in death by one son, Richard.
