Higgins - John

Hon. John Higgins, of Boone County, died at his home three miles east of Thorntown, last night at the advanced age of 82 years. Mr. Higgins was a brother-in-law of Hannibal Trout and William L. Lee and was well known in this county. He was a prosperous farmer and a well to do and leading citizen of Boone County, having been honored by the people of that county with many positions of trust and honor. He served several terms in the legislature and took a leading part in all measures that had for their object the upbuilding of his county and state. A prominent member of the Presbyterian Church, he was most active in all work that pertained to the advancement of the Master’s kingdom. In the death of Mr. Higgins, Boone County loss one of its most honored citizens. – thanks so much to “S” – one great typist
