WINGATE, Ind. (CNS ) --- Mrs. Lora Higbee, 81, of Wingate Route 1, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 22, 1977) at the Home Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient four days and had been ill for some time. Born Dec. 5, 1895, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of John and Sally Todd Eads. She was married Oct. 24, 1917, in Waynetown to Clifford Higbee, who survives. She and her husband had farmed in the Wingate area since 1920, except for 18 years when they resided in Waynetown. Mrs. Higbee was a charter member of the Delpha Alpha Sunday School Class and a member of the Faithful Gleaners Sunday School Class and Mellott United Church of Christ. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Delores) Hopkins of Mellott; two sisters, Mrs. Lida Horn and Mrs. Retta Snyder, both of Crawfordsville; four brothers, Thomas Eads of Frankfort, Raymond Eads of Darlington, Ezra Eads of Plainfield and Lloyd Eads of St. Cloud, Fla.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Friday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. The Rev. Robert Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
