Alonzo E. Higbee, 82, Waynetown man and resident of Montgomery County his entire life, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at the home of his nephew, John Higbee, 523 E. Main Street here. He had been in failing health for a month and gravely ill the past week. Death was attributed to a complication of ailments. The deceased was born June 3, 1889 at Waynetown the son of John A. and Ruth Sayers Higbee. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge and Baptist Church of Waynetown. Surviving are several nephews and nieces, John Higbee of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Ross Humphries of Waynetown; Clifford Higbee of Wingate, Fred Higbee of Indianapolis; Ruth Myers of Mansfield SD and Leta Hendricks, Danville, Il. The body will remain at the Grenard Funeral Home in Waynetown until time for the funeral which will be held from the Waynetown Baptist Church at 2 CST, Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. Guy Tremaine. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
