Veedersburg - Harry L. Hicks, 80, former Superintendent of the Veedersburg Light and Water Co. and local police officer died suddenly at 2 p.m. Friday at his home. Mr. Hicks was a charter member of Wabash Valley Electric League and Police League of Indiana. He attended First United Methodist Church of Veedersburg. Born September 17, 1891, in Fountain County, he was a son of John and Sally Redenbaugh Hicks. He first married Eva McKinzie who preceded him in death. His second marriage in 1962 was to Ella Kinneer. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Wreatha) Furr of Veedersburg and Mrs. Kathryn Rollins of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Mrs. J. Bryant (Velma) Starkey of Covington; a foster son, Forrest Dunbar of Sarasota, Fla; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Parham Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Luther E. Page and Rev. Vermon Souder officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
