Ladoga, Nov 4 -- Word was received here yesterday afternoon that Forrest Logan Hicks, aged 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hicks residing near this place, died Sunday afternoon at Camp McClellan, Anniston, Alabama from pneumonia. The father and wife of the man, together with Dr. Peacock, went to the camp the middle of last week, when they received word of his illness. Dr. Peacock returned in a few days but the other two remained until his death. Young Hicks was born in Hendricks County and had spent the greater part of his life in that and Montgomery counties. He received the greater part of his education at this place and was married last April to Miss Letha McSurren (sic - McFerran) of Roachdale. He left this city wieh the draft increment last July for Camp Taylor and was there until about two months ago when he was sent to Alabama. Besides the parents and the wife, the deceased is surviving by 3 brothers, J.H. Hicks of North Dakota, Otis L. Hicks of near Ladoga and Ewell, residing at home. The family left the camp at Alabama this afternoon at 4 o'clock with the body and they expected to arrive here sometime tomorrow. The funeral arrangements will be made after they return here. The deceased was serving with the 26th US Field Artillery, Co. B at the time of his death. kbz

Roachdale - Relatives here received the sad message that Forest L. Hicks, aged 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mart Hicks, died Sunday at Camp McClellan, Alabama after a brief illness of pneumonia . He left Montgomery County in a draft contingent July 25 for Camp Taylor, KY and was transferred to the actual camp at Anniston, Ala. He leave shis young wife who was Miss Letha McFerrin; his parents and three brothers to mourn his loss. The funeral will be today from the home of his parents. kbz
