New Market- Benjamin H. Hicks, 75, died Sunday at his home here at 11:45 a.m. He had been ill 7 years. He was born Oct 21, 1888, in Vermilion County, Ill to Charles and Sarah Foster Hicks. He was married March 16, 1918, to Jessie Pearl Burk. He was a member of Byron Cox Post 72 of American Legion in Crawfordsville. He lived here the past 35 years and was employed as a plasterer. He had been a membe rof the Plasterers' Union for 59 years. He was a mechanic in WWI. He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Mabel Ghyst of Omaha, Neb, and several nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and one sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Noble Reeves Funeral Home here. Rev. Calvin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home.
