Rites were conducted for John M. Hickman Thursday afternoon at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland with Rev. Herbert Hugo of Chicago officiating. Pallbearers were Eston Myers, Robert Myers, William Shular, Clarhud Moore, Arthur Marvis, and Hubert Thomas. They also assisted with flowers. NR Walker played organ selections. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery at Waveland. Mr. Hickman died Monday in Crawfordsville. - kbz

John M. Hickman, age 88, of Waveland died Monday morning June 27, 1966 at Bowles Convalescent Home in Crawfordsville. He had been in failing health since February. He was born May 28, 1878 in Rockville, the son of Jackson and Sarah Taylor Hickman. In 1902 he married Delta Shepard in Russellville. He had been retired since 1942 and prior to that worked as a farmhand and an employee for the Pennsylvania RR. He was a member of the Waveland Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Arthur DeCamp of Brazil; a son, Albert Hickman of Danville, Ill; a brother, George of Terre Haute; a son-in-law Fred Dee of Danville, Ill; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were to be held Thursday afternoon at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland with Rev. Hubert Hugo o f Chicago officiating. Burial was to be in Old Union Cemetery at Waveland. - kbz
