MELLOTT — Mrs. Jessie A. Hibbs, a resident of Mellott the past 30 years, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday following a short illness at the Westbrook Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. She had been at the nursing home since December 1963. She was born Nov. 8, 1884, in Scott's Prairie to David and Violet Caroline Hicks Parkerson. She married Ott Willhite, who died in 1905. She married Hurley Hibbs July 3, 1907. She attended school south of Hillsboro and at Mellott and was a member of the United Church of Christ at Mellott for over 50 years. Survivors include the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Weaver of Bloomingdale and Mrs. Max Banta and Mrs. Muriel McCreary, both of Indianapolis; a son, Buell Hibbs of Romney; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons. The body was taken to the Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, southwest of Newtown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday. --typed by Walt W
