Darlington - Harry L. HIATT 86 who had been a businessman at Darlington for several years died Tuesday in Culver Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of the Congregational Church the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion all at Darlington. A vet of WWI he served with the US Navy. Mr. Hiatt was born Feb 12, 1889 at Darlington a s/o William and Flora Grimes HIatt. He attended schools at Darlington and was married on Dec 16, 1918 to Iva Gant Kirk who suvives. Also surving two sons Norman R and Donald R; 3 daughters Mrs Marian Johnson; Dorothy Stovall and lela Taylor; 3 sisters, Mrs. Nelle Talbert; Dorothy WHitson and Mrs. FLorence WEbster; 7 grandchildren and two greats. A stepson, Glenn Kirk and brother Bert are deceased. Services 2 p.m. Friday Burkhart Funeral Home Rev Howard Miller offic. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Masonic services. -- kbz
