Mrs. Nellie Edna Hitch, 705 S. Walnut St., who entered Culver Hospital last Thursday, died at the Hospital Tuesday morning at the age of 72. She was born Nov. 10, 1890, in Crawfordsville and married James Hitch here March 23, 1911. Her husband died Oct. 21, 1959. Mrs. Hitch was a member of the Christian Church and the Senior Citizens Club. She attended schools here and was employed at the Crawfordsville Casket Co., the garment factory and other downtown firms. Survivors include five sons, Jacob Lee Hitch and Albert Corwin Hitch of Crawfordsville, Frank L. Hitch of Gary and James Hitch and Frederick Hitch, both of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Henderson of Lafayette; a half-brother, James Parie of Ft. Worth, Tex., and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and a half-brother. Funeral services have not been completed. Friends may call at the Bright Funeral Home after noon Thursday. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Darlington.
