Dr. William A. (Doc) Henthorn, 94 years old, retired veterinarian, died Thursday at 2:45 p. m. at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Davidson, R. F. D. 6, Crawfordsville, with whom he had been living for several years. He had been ill for about 18 months. Dr. Henthorn was born in Danville, Ill., Sept. 17, 1856, the son of William and Rebecca Jane Sapp Henthorn. He attended the Danville schools. In 1900 he moved to Montgomery county and began his practice of veterinary medicine in Montgomery and Fountain counties. He retired from active practice in 1920. Dr. Henthorn also farmed extensively in Montgomery and Fountain counties. His entire life was devoted to agriculture. He was a member of the Waynetown Baptist church, a 25-year member of F. & A. M. No. 50, the Crawfordsville Commandery Knights Templar No. 25, and the Scottish Rite. On Oct. 8, 1876, he was married to Lucy Belle Moore, who died March 20, 1924. He was also preceded in death by a son, two daughters, and a brother. Survivors include five sons, Elmer of South Bend, Everett of South Bend, John of Danville, Ill., Edgar of Waynetown, and Dewey of Roachdale; four daughters, Mrs. Davidson, Mrs. Willie French of Veedersburg, Mrs. Daisy Zuck of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. William Demoret of R. F. D. 6, Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be conducted at the Bright funeral home Monday at 2 p. m. by Rev. George T. King, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
