Mrs. Ida E. Helms, 70 of 513 North St, died at 11 a.m. Sunday July 9, 1978 at Lakeview Medical Center. She had been a patient two weeks. Born Dec 31, 1907 in Silverwood, she was the daughter of Oscar and Olivia Pascal McElwee. On July 12, 1925 she was married to Russell Helms who died in 1965. She was a member of the Freedom Christian Church in Wallace. Survivors include a son, Eugene Helms of Crawfordsville; five daughters, Mrs. Russell (Lois) Hand of Veedersburg; Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Kerns of Covgington Rt 2; Mrs. Billy (Lucille) Clawson of Veedersburg; Mrs. James (Mary Jane) Hendrick of Newtown and Mrs. Billy (Beverly) Dennis of Veedersburg; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parham Funeral Home with Rev. Cloyd Kyger officiating. Burial in Bonebrake Cemetery. - kbz
