Edward D. HESLAR, died at Culver Hospital Thursday May 12 at 7:30 p.m. Mr. ED Heslar son of John and Amanda Heslar was born in Greene Township, Parke County, Indiana Feb 12, 1867 where he resided during the 82 years of his earthy sojourn following the occupation of a farmer. In the year 1890, on August 28, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth STRONG at Caitlin, Indiana. There survive his going two daughters, Mrs. Fred Spencer of Green Twp and Ruth Spencer of Indianapolis 3 grandchildren, Juliet Coleman, Danville, Indiana; Gynn Spencer, Waveland and Lura Colgan of Rapid City, ND; 3 great grandchildren, Gulie, Thomas and James Colgan of Rapid City. Mr. Heslar was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church first at Guion until that that church closed and then Waveland until he was called to the church triumphant. In both the Guion and Waveland churches he was a trustee and an elder and held other official relationships which capacities he served his church to a half a century. Mr. H. was a highly respected citizen a good and friendly neighbor and consistant Christian gentleman. Funeral rites were conducted at the Machledt Funeral Home 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon by Rev. CN McBrayer assisted by Rev. James O'neal. Mr. Kenneth Coleman sang 3 hymns accompanied by Mrs. Forrest Coleman. Paul bearers were Nathan Jarvis; Carl Humphries; Forrest Coleman; Dewey Hazlett; Elbert Phillips; OL Thomas. Burial was made in Marshall Cemetery. = typed by kbz
