WINGATE, Ind. — Raliegh Hays, 93, of Wingate, died Saturday morning (April 7, 1979) at his home. Death was due to natural causes. He was a retired farmer. He had lived in the Wingate area 1 50 years. He was a member of the Elmdale Community Church. Born Oct. 13, 1885, near Corydon, he was the sons of William Thomas and Mary Guest Hays. On March 26, 1907, he married Gertie Richards of Corydon. She died in October of 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Beulah "Bea" Roden' of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs.. Corabelle Buse of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Iva Landes of Bloomington, Ill.; two grandchildren, Donald Nevitt of New Richmond and Mrs. Linda Reynolds ; of Covington; and six great-grandchildren. He was,preceded in death by a son, Arlie. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with the Rev. Jack Swank officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
