Edwin C./Edward C. Hays/Hayes. He died in a hospital from injuries sustained when a passenger train on the Syracuse division of the Lackawanna railroad crashed into the rear of at Utica division train which was standing at the Chenango Forks station. Mr. Hays was the son of the late "One Armed" Charley Hayes, and was well and favorably known in this city. He was about forty five years of age. Noted in vaudeville circuit for several years and was possessed of unusual talent. He married Miss Jennie McClelland, daughter of John McClelland. Mrs. Fred Coombs of this city is a cousin of the dead man. For the past five years Mr. Hayes has been a ticket taker at English's opera house in Indianapolis. The body will be returned to Indianapolis and taken to the home, 1314 Court street, where the funeral will be held. Survived by a widow and five children. The oldest son was also a member of the John W. Vogel Co., but was not injured in the wreck.
