Whitesville, Jan 29 - Mrs. William W. Hayes, 68 years old died Sunday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis of the effects of a serious operation following an extended illness of gall stones. The operation was performed Thursday following a period of several years of illness.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grissom and was born in 1854 (sic - born 21 July 1858). She came to Whitesville when she was a young girl and during her many years of residence here had acquired a large number of friends.
She is survived by her husband and six children, four children having preceded her in death. Those who survive are Homer and Perry Hays (sic) `and Mrs. Frank McMullen of near Ladoga, Mrs. Harry McNulty of Mace, Mrs. John Harris of near here and Mrs. Roy SHelton of near New Ross. One sister, Mrs. Joe Nichols of Mace and one brother, Abb Grissom of Cloverdale also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church at Mace Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. SG Smith of Ladoga. Interment will be made in the K of P cemetery. - kbz
