Waynetown - Irl Hauk, 77-year-old retired farmer who formerly lived on Rt 4, Crawfordsville in the Elmdale community, died Sunday in a hospital at Douglas, AZ of complications arising after surgery. He lived in the Elmdale neighborhood until retiring in 1946 and moving to Arizona. A White County native, he was a son of Ab and Emma Moore Hauk and was born July 3, 1887. Due to his mother's death he was reared in the home of an uncle, William Moore near Elmdale. Mr. Hauk was married Oct 27, 1917 to Cecile Hayes who survives. Also surviving are a son, Herbert Hauk of Rt 4, Crawfordsville; 3 daughters, Mrs. Hazel Upham of Tacoma, Washington and Mrs. Lucretia Himes and Mrs. Viola Wolf of Rt 6, Crawfordsville; a half sister, Mrs. Ida Hauk and sister-in-law, Mrs. Fay Hauk both of Bluffton and 10 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a sister, Mrs. Albert Steiner and half brother George Hauk. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine the minister and burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

WINGATE — Irl Hauk of Douglas, Ariz., formerly of the Elmdale neighborhood, died at five o'clock Sunday evening at a hospital in Douglas where he had surgery two weeks ago. Mr. Hauk moved to Arizona eighteen years ago because of asthma. The body is to be brought to the funeral home in Waynetown. Arrangements were not complete at this time (Tuesday). Mr. Hauk is survived by his wife; four children, Herbert Hauk of east of Elmdale, Mrs. Mazel Upham of Oregon, Mrs. Lucretia Himes of route 6, Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Viola Wolf of Waynetown, and ten grandchildren.
