Waynetown - Mrs. Salina E. Hatt, 86, native of Montgomery County died at 6:40 a.m. Friday at 504 E. College St in Crawfordsville where she had been staying since June of 1963 after she had broken a hip in May of that year. She had been seriously ill for two weeks prior to her death. Born Aug 21, 1878, near Waveland, Mrs. Hatt was the daughter of Albert C. and Mary E. Hinkle Butcher. On Oct 22, 1899, she was married to William V. Hatt at Alamo. After the marriage the couple resided on a farm northeast of Waynetown until her husband's death on Feb 18, 1938. She then resided with an uncle in Oregon City, Oregon for 19 years before returning to Waynetown in May of 1960 to stay. Mrs. Hatt was a member of the former Snyder Chapel United Brethren Church near Waynetown. She was preceded in death by a daughter and three great grandchildren. There are a total of 98 surviors including two sons, Albert V. Hatt of Rt. 1, Ladoga and Joseph W. Hatt of Waynetown; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Meadows of Youtnsville and Mrs. Martha Bell of Alamo; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Short and Mrs. Nora Vestal, both of Clinton; three half sisters and two half brothers all of near Kokomo; 18 grandchildren 59 great grandchildren and 17 great great granchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday Oct 19 at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown, Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday. - kbz

Waynetown – Mrs. Salina E. Hatt, died at
6:40 a.m. Friday in Dickerson Nursing Home, Crawfordsville where she had been
residing since June 1963 after suffering a broken hip in May of that year. She
had been seriously ill two weeks. She was born near Waveland and was married in
1899 to William V. Hatt at Alamo. After her marriage she lived on a farm
northeast of Waynetown until 1938 when her husband died. She then lived for 19
years with an uncle in Oregon City, Ore. She returned to Waynetown in 1960. She
was a member of the former Snyder Chapel United Brethren Church. Surviving are
two sons, Albert V. of Ladoga and Joseph W. at Waynetown; two daughters, Mrs.
