Harwood - Robert - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Robert Harwood, long time employee of Montgomery Ward & Company died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Culver Hospital. Mr. Harwood, 53, had been in declining health about a month. At the time of his death, he was manager of Ward's automotive department. The deceased was a member of the Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church and Waynetown Lodge No 302, F&AM. Born on November 12, 1916 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of John and Florence Weikel Harwood. He was married on October 31, 1937 to Alberta Sanders who survives. The ceremony was held in Waynetown. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Andrews and Mrs. Roberta K. Haffner of New Market, a sister Mrs. Rose Keller of South Bend; three brothers, Russell of Crawfordsville, Richard who is serving in Korea and Thomas of Des Moines, Iowa and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
