Mrs. Doris Ellen Harwood, 37, died at Ingle Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Ill., Wednesday at 9:45 p.m. She had been a patient there for two weeks. Mrs. Harwood, who lived in Park Forest, Ill., was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Chrisman, Ill. She was the daughter of Clarence and Nettie Whitehead Wood. She married Dalton C. Harwood on Aug. 30, 1952, in Crawfordsville. Before her marriage she had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Caster E. Wilson for six years. Mrs. Harwood, who was a graduate of Russellville High School, set up housekeeping with her husband in Fort Wayne after their marriage. They have lived in Park Forest, Ill. for the last two years while Mr. Harwood has been associated with Armour Agricultural Chemical Co. in Chicago Heights. Mrs. Harwood was a member of the First Baptist Church in Park Forest. Survivors, besides her husband, include two sons, Gregg, 8, and Kevin, 4; a sister, Mrs. Ira N. Pickens of Crawfordsville, an uncle, two aunts, a niece, and her mother, who lives in Crawfordsville. Her father died in 1940. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home by Rev. William Webber, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Park Forest. Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Ellen Harwood were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Bright Funeral Home by Rev. William Webber of Park Forest, Ill, her pastor. Assisting with the flowers and acting as pallbearers were Lloyd Asberry of near Crawfordsville; Clyde Abston of Darlington, Ted Whitehead of Lebanon, James Randall of Terre Haute and Donald Compton of Chrisman, Ill, Curtis E. Bright played requested selections on the organ. Burial was on the family plot in Oak Hill Cemetery.
