Union Chapel, Jan 28 -- Andrew Jackson Harwood, a life-long farmer died at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon at his home one mile west of here. His death followed an illness of 5 weeks with compliations. Mr. Harwood was born in Brown Twp, Montgomery Co May 23, 1851, the son of Jackson and Perina Harrell Harwood. He was married on Jan 18, 1874 to Anneliza Lewellen, who died Oct 13, 1924. Mr. Harwood had been a member of the Union Chapel Church since boyhood. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Switzer of near Waynetown; 3 sons: Charles J, living at home and Lonnie W. and Harry E, both of Crawfordsville, three brothers, Richard D of Crawfordsivlle; James M. of near Waynetown and JT of near Crawfordsville; and one sister, Mrs. Rosa Coombs of White Hall, Michigan and five grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death. The remains were taken to the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home at Crawfordsville and at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon will be taken to the Union Chapel Church where the funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock. Rev EL Eckerley will be in charge and interment will be made at the Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
