James I. Harvey, 79, RR 1, Kingman died at 4 a.m. Friday, Feb 17, 1989 at Covington Manor Nursing Home in Covington. Born Feb 7, 1910 in Parke County, he was the son of Bert and Lillie Bennett Harvey. On Nov 25, 1940, he married Alice Clark, who survives. He was a self-employed contractor and did excavation work. He attended school in Byron and was a member of Freedom Christian Church, Wallace Masonic Lodge 495, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 415, Low 12 Cabalistic and was a 32nd degree member of Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.
Other survivors include five sons: Vernon Lee Harvey of Alamo; Kenneth Harvey of Haines City, Florida; Donald Harvey of Veedersburg; Gerald Harvey of RR 1, Hillsboro and Jimmy Dale Harvey of RR 1, Kingman; a daughter, Sandra Atkins of New Castle; two brothers, Evan Harvey of Waveland and Earl Harvey of Kingman; 23 grandchldren; 35 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and two great granddaughters and 3 sisters.
Services were conducted today (Monday) at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Rodney Overpeck officiating. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery near Wallace. - typed by kbz -- article sent by Jamie Patton, Kingman, Indiana
