Augusta E. Hartung, 77 of Rt 2, Crawfordsville, died at 4:30 Monday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. Miss Hartung, a missionary in the African Congo for 28 years was a member of First Baptist Church. A graduate of Crawfordsville HS, she attended Indiana State and Indiana Central universities. She taught school at Youngs Chapel and Smartsburg. She was a daughter of George W. and Jessie Chadwick Hartung. She is survived by three brothers, Henry and George of Crawfordsville; Howard of North Ft. Myers, Fl; six sisters: Mary Hartung, Rt 2; Ethel Lidikay of Grand Junction, Colo; and Francis Fine, Edith Morris, Betty Cooper and Ann Smith all of Crawfordsville. A brother, Lawrence and sister, Helen Chambers are deceased. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Bpatist Church with Rev. James Ranard officiating. Burial at Oak Hill. - kbz
