Mrs. Beatrice I. Harshman, 56, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday in Witham Hospital, Lebanon. She had been hospitalized one day. She was born Feb 28, 1903 in St. Joseph County, a daughter of Lert and Lula Hess Barkey. She married Carl Harshman June 30, 1924 at St. Joe, Michigan. Mrs. Harshman attended Plymouth and Lapaz High Schools and had lived in Thorntown 30 years. She was a member of the Amaranth Lodge of Lebanon and Thorntown Presbyterian Church. Survivors include the husband: a son, Richard Harshman of Indianapolis; a brother, Ira Barkey of San Diego, California; 3 sisters, Mrs. Blanche Cramer of Burbank, California; Mrs. Jean Grace of near Los Angeles and Mrs. Herman Thomas of Plymouth and 3 grandchildren, Dick B, Richard and Jana Sue Harshman, all of Indianapolis..
