Charles Joseph Hartley, 70 died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in his home at 804 S. Washington Street. He was born in Crawfordsville on July 8, 1898, a son of Joseph and Emma Brown Harley. He was married to Mae Glascock in Crawfordsville on Sept 29, 1934. A member of the FIrst Chrisitan Church, he was employed by the city. He attended Crawfordsville schools and had formerly worked for Johnson Manufacutring Co. Surviving besides the widow are two sisters, Mrs. Nora McClellan and Mrs. Mable Branham of Crawfordsville; a brother, George Hartley of Crawfordsville; two nieces, Miss Emma Branham and Miss Pearl Branham and three nephews, Donald Hartley and Joseph Hartley and F.F. Branham. Funeral services will be at 3:30 pm. Wed at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday.- jlr
