Dr. Thomas H. Harrison, editor of the Michigan City Dispatch, died last night in his cottage at Battle Ground. For several months he has been rapidly declining in health caused by stomach troubles. Thinking a change of atmosphere would be beneficial, accompanied by his wife, he came to Battle Ground last week. He began to grow worse immediately upon his arrival there and lingered until his death last night. Dr. Harrison was a son of James H. Harrison, formerly a prominent citizen of this county. He was born in Walnut Township where he lived until he grew to manhood. When a young man he began the practice of medicine at Lebanon in which profession he continued for several years, but finally abandoned it for the newspaper business. For several years he was the editor of the Lebanon Pioneer and at the same time Superintendent of the county schools. He was afterward President of the State Benevolent Board. Upon retiring from this position he sold the Pioneer and bought the Michigan City Dispatch. He leaves a wife and son who has reached the age of manhood.
