Bladen A. Harrison died at his home on Spring street at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening.  He was born in Harrison county, Indiana, May 13, 1830, being 65 years of age on the day of his death.  From Harrison county, Mr. Harrison moved to Prairie du Chein, Wisconsin, in 1857, thence he moved to Iowa in 1859, and at the outbreak of the Rebellion he was one of the first to take up arms in defence of his country, having enlisted in Co. F, 6th Regiment, Iowa Vol. Infantry, July 17, 1861.  By exposure in the line of duty he was prostrated with lung fever, which caused a permanent disease of the lungs and rendered him unfit for further military service and necessitated his discharge Feb. 28, 1862.  He tried to re-enter the service after this, but was refused on account of his health.  After his discharge from the service he returned to Indiana, and has lived in Harrison and Montgomery counties ever since.  He was married to Margaret LaHugh, August 31, 1863, who with a son and daughter survive him.  The funeral took place Thursday, may 16, at 2 p.m. at the house.  Interment at Masonic cemetery.- thanks to Kim H
