Darlington, Ind., June 23. After an illness covering a period of several years, Mrs. Sarah Harris died at two o'clock Tuesday morning at her home in Darlington. She was seventy-six years of age having been born Oct. 22. 1838. Funeral services sill be held Thursday morning at ten-thirty at her home. Rev. Martin of Darlington will deliver the funeral address. Burial will be made at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Mrs. Harris was married to Jordon Harris September 21, 1856. Eleven children were born to them. Three of the children are dead; Ida and Zelma Blanch died in infancy, while Mrs. Lizzie Martin died eight years ago. Mrs. Harris was made a widow in 1899 when her husband died. The following children survive the deceased: Mrs. Molly Thompson, Darlington; Charles, of near Crawfordsville; Albert, and Fred are at home. Mrs. Harris was well known around darlington and the northern part of Montgomery County. She was a loving mother and an accommodative neighbor. She was a lifelong member of the Christian church.

After an illness of several years duration, Mrs. Sarah Harris died at her home, in the south west part of town Tuesday morning at 2'oclock, of tuberculosis of the skin. She was born in Ohio October 22, 1838. Mrs. Harris was married to Jordan Harris September 21, 1856. To this union eleven children were born, three with the father having preceded her to the great beyond. The father, Jordan Harris, died October 24th, 1899, at the age of 75 years, eight months and one day. The children living are: Chas, near Crawfordsville; Albert, of Whitesville; Harry and Mrs. Cora Marshall, of Logansport; Elwood, Will and Fred, at home, and Mrs. Molly Thompson, also of this place. She is also survived by one great great grandchild, 15 great grandchildren and 22 grandchildren. Also one brother, Jake Demaris, and 2 half brothers, Frank and Wm Daugherty, who reside in Ohio. Sarah and Jordan Harris moved to Darlington, Indiana, in 1868. The deceased was well-known in this part of the county. She was a loving mother and good neighbor. A life-long member of the Christian church, she in life practiced the teachings of her Savior. The funeral was held Thursday morning at the home, conducted by Rev. W.H. Martin. Burial in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.
