Mattie Harris was born at Crawfordsville. Ind., August 19, 1884, and died at Crawfordsville, Ind Jan. 7, aged 13 years, 1 months and 1i days. Jesus was her life companion. Neither did he forsake her in the valley of death. Loved and loving she sweetly fell asleep to awake on that bright and cloudless morn where the dead in Christ shall rise and the glory of his resurrection share. The funeral was preached at D. C. Barnhill's undertaking establishment Jan. 8, conducted by Rev. R. I). Trick, pastor of First Baptist church. In loving remembrance of mv cousin, Mattie, who entered into rest Jan. 7, 189S: We miss thee from our home dear Mattie. We miss thee from our place: A shadow o'er our life is cast. We miss the sunshine of thy face. Wo miss thy kind and willing hands Thy fond and earnest care: 'Your home is (lark without thee. We miss you ever where. But in our once bright happy home. We miss thy smiling fin-e. Your gentle voice and loving kiss. Your tender, sweet embrace. T’were vain to call you back again. £o all that we can do, Is to pray and shed our grief of tear In memory of you. Mattie if I could hut see, Your smiling angel face, And hear you sing with angels fair Around the throne of grace O smile upon us from above, Ask God to lead us through The walk of life, that we someday. Mattie Harris, the fourteen year old daughter of Henry Harris, died last Friday of typhoid fever. The mother and another daughter are quite low with the same disease. In order to prevent the knowledge of the death coming to them, the dead child was removed to Barnhill’s undertaking shop where the funeral occurred Saturday afternoon at three o’clock.

Mattie Harris, the 14 year old daughter of Henry Harris died at her home on Spring Street Saturday morning of typhoid fever. The interment occurred at the Oak Hill Sunday. The deceased’s mother is ill with the same disease and her recover is very doubtful.
