Rev. Malcolm A. Harris, 54, Presbyterian
minister of Stuart, Fla., and a Crawfordsville native, died in the hospital at
Stuart Tuesday night after suffering a stroke Sunday. Rev. Harris was pastor of
the First Presbyterian Church in Stuart. He received his theological training
at McCormick Seminary at Chicago and held pastorates in Ohio, Michigan, Texas,
Illinois and Roachdale. He was a graduate of New Ross High School and a 1935
alumnus of Wabash College. A son of Charles and Dora Harris, he was born in
Crawfordsville on April 14, 1913. The family moved to New Ross where the elder
Harris was a farmer. He was married in 1935 to Eleanor Hobson, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bryant Hobson of this city. Surviving are the widow; a son, James, and
a daughter, Judith, all of Stuart. After memorial services and cremation in
Stuart, the remains will be interred in Oak Hill Cemetery. – jlr
