Edward Harris, 65, of 1415 Durham Drive died at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. Mr. Harris, father of local attorney Terry E. Harris, had been overseer of the Lake Waveland Development Corp. the past two years. Prior to that he had been a machinest with Chrysler Corp. at New Castle for 37 years. He was a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church and the K of P Lodge there. Born April 5, 1908 at Ontario, Canada, he was a son of John and Florence Pardoe Harris. He was educated in New Castle schools. He was married to Alberta Hochstetler May 29, 1925. She died June 17, 1971. Survivors in addition to the son, with whom he made his home, are a daughter, Mrs. Genalee Sears of New Castle; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Chew of New Castle and Mrs. Beatrice Livezey of Port Charlotte, Fla.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Elm Ridge Mausoleum at Muncie. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Thursday. The family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. – jlr
