Harp - Laura Byrd

Mrs. Laura Byrd Harp, daughter of Peter and Nancy Byrd, died Nov 21 at her home in Harper County, Kansas of consumption caused by lagrippe. She was born and raised three miles south of Crawfordsville where she lived until six years ago when she moved with her husband to the West. She was born Dec 9, 1862 and was married to Robert Harp May 28, 1884. There was born to them one daughter, Birdie, who died at the tender age of two years. Laura joined the Methodist Church in early childhood and lived a Christian life and died in the tried in the triumph of living faith. After bidding all good-by she said, “tell father and mother I am dying so happy. I can see my darling baby and my brothers!’ - kz
