Harlan - Ella Harper

WAYNETOWN – Mrs. Ella Harlan, 65, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville about six hours after suffering a stroke at her home here. She was born Sept. 23, 1895, near Waynetown, a daughter of Granville and Mary Cole Harper. She married Clarence Harlan July 11, 1915, at Waynetown. Mrs. Harlan attended school at Sterling and had lived here the past 30 years. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Blackford of Waynetown and Mrs. Nadyne Shubert of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Clarence Harlan Jr., at home; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Sales of Danville, Ill.; two brothers, David Harper of Brook and Dailey Harper of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Pat Richardson of Waynetown and Cheryl and Greg Shubert of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Warren E. Richardson. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. (EST) Thursday at Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine in charge. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 p.m. Tuesday - jlr
