MARION DUNN HARDING

The death of Mrs. Charles N. Harding occurred this morning shortly after nine o'clock at the family residence on south Washington street, she never having railed from the paralytic stroke she received last week. Owning to the fact that some of her children have been summoned home by illness there, the funeral will take place at the home tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock. The services will be conducted by Dr. Nave and the interment will take place at the Masonic cemetery.
Mrs. Harding's maiden name was Marian W. Dunn, and she was the daughter of Nathaniel Dunn, a pioneer resident of Crawfordsville. She was born in this city on June 11, 1826, in a residence which stood on what is now west Main street, it finally being moved to permit the opening of the through-fare. On November 22, 1849, she was married to Mr. Harding and they celebrated their golden wedding last November.
The death of Mrs. Harding is the first to occur in the family, her children all living. They are Mary E. Twyman, of Macomb, Ill., Mrs. Ella V. Barrett, of Covington, George D. Harding, of Bloomington, Ill., C.M. Harding, of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Charles McCabe, of Covington. Mrs. Harding was a consistent member of the First Presbyterian church and had been since sixteen years of age. Her entire life was passed in this city, save a short residence at Annapolis and Macomb, and her many excellencies of character made her a woman respected and esteemed by all. She did much good in her time and the community is the better for her having lived. - thanks to Kim H
