Harris - Leslie Coombs

Leslie Coombs Harris was born in Nicholasville, Jessamine Co, Ky June 15, 1851. In 1861 he moved with his parents to Defiance, Ohio and shortly after to Indiana, settling near Browns Valley.
On March 12, 1874, he was united in marriage with Louisa Frances Brown to which union there came three children. The first died in infancy; the second is Claude Brown Harris of Alexandria, La; and the third, LeRoy Harris of Cleveland, Ohio. The family came to Crawfordsville in 1898 where they made their home until the death of Mrs. Harris, Oct 9, 1920.
Since this time he has made his home with the two sons, spending the winters in Alexandria, La; and the summers in Cleveland. he was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church being active and taking part in all Church work until his health recently made it impossible. Besides the two sons and daughters (sic), he leaves two grandchildren, daughters of Claude B. Harris and a sister, Mrs. John Rusk of Browns Valley. - typed by kbz
